Traffic Safety Drive Conducted in Gonda, Seven Vehicles Challaned During Inspection

Gonda — In an effort to strengthen road safety awareness and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations, the Transport Department launched a special enforcement drive across various parts of the district under the supervision of ARTO (Administration) R.C. Bhartiya.

The campaign focused on identifying motorists violating traffic norms, particularly cases related to drunk driving, unsafe vehicle operation, and disregard for road safety regulations. During the checking drive, vehicle drivers were tested using breath analyzer machines to detect alcohol consumption while driving. Officials also inspected necessary vehicle documents and stopped suspicious vehicles for verification.

According to the Transport Department, a total of seven vehicles were challaned during the operation for violating traffic rules. The violations included driving under the influence of alcohol, riding without helmets, and other breaches of traffic safety norms.

Speaking during the campaign, ARTO (Administration) R.C. Bhartiya stressed that road safety is a shared responsibility and even minor negligence can result in serious accidents. He urged motorists to strictly follow traffic rules, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and completely refrain from driving after consuming alcohol.

As part of the awareness initiative, officials also educated vehicle owners and the general public about essential road safety practices. Citizens were encouraged to wear helmets and seat belts, follow prescribed speed limits, and obey road signs to reduce the risk of accidents.

Transport Department officials stated that similar awareness and enforcement drives will continue in the future to promote safer roads and reduce traffic-related accidents across the district.
